Searchers Pinpoint Body in Garage Rubble

The discovery raises the number of fatalities to four in the partial collapse of a five-story parking garage being built in Doral for Miami Dade College.

Rescuers working six days after a five-story parking garage being built for Miami Dade College partially collapsed Oct. 10 located a man's body deep in the rubble, The Miami Herald reported Oct. 15. Its report said investigators have spoken with relatives of Robert Budhoo, 53, a worker who remained missing after the collapse, although the body has not yet been officially identified.

Three other workers died in the incident.

All Technical Rescue Team units of the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department responded to the scene in Doral, Fla. About 17 workers were on site when the structure fell as a crane was placing an expansion beam on top of another beam, the newspaper reported. No students were hurt. The college announced the West Campus will remain closed temporarily, with classes moved to other campuses in the area.
