21 to Receive Lifesaving Awards at L&I Conference
The presentation is set for Sept. 26, the first day of the 61st Governor's Industrial Safety and Health Conference in Spokane.
Twenty-one individuals will be honored Sept. 26 at the 61st Governor's Industrial Safety and Health Conference in the Spokane Convention Center for heroic acts such as preventing a young shooting victim from bleeding to death, performing CPR, rescuing a disabled woman from a burning home, and wading into a swamp to rescue a motorist.
The honorees will receive the Governor's Lifesaving Award and will be featured guests at the conference, which will be held Sept. 26-27. It is sponsored by the Governor's Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board and the Washington state Department of Labor & Industries (L&I).
The event includes safety demonstrations, workshops, the 15th Annual Forklift Rodeo, and the 39th Annual Poletop Rescue Competition.
Lifesaving Awards recipients are selected by an independent committee of the conference advisory board comprised of business and labor representatives. For more information about the conference, visit www.wagovconf.org.
