Safety+ Symposium 2023 Serving up Special Events

Annual safety event features two exclusive tours and a scholarship golf tournament.

The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association Inc. (VPPPA) will soon host its annual Safety+ Symposium from Sept. 17 to Sept. 20 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Fla., and it aims to take things beyond the usual seminars and round-table discussions with some special events.

Symposium attendees who have registered for the three events, will have the opportunity to engage in some interaction, collaboration, and learning, as well as a lot of fun:

Kennedy Space Center Tour

Set to take place a day before the symposium, on Sept. 16, from 9 am to 4 pm, the Kennedy Space Center tour promises attendees a deep dive into America's space exploration history. With guidance from a veteran astronaut, participants will journey through the milestones of the space program, encompassing its past, present, and future. A segment of the tour includes learning the details of designing and constructing rockets.

Daytona International Speedway Tour

The world of motorsports is beckoning attendees on Sept. 17, from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The intimate Daytona International Speedway tour, includes a visit to ISC’s Archives and Research Center, home to many revered racing artifacts. Participants will then enter the motorsports stadium, exploring its legacy in details. A visit to the drivers’ meeting room, access to the Coca Cola Theater, and an up-close examination of the Champion DAYTONA 500 Car will round out this immersive experience.

VPPPA Scholarship Golf Tournament

Aligning with the spirit of camaraderie and learning, the VPPPA Scholarship Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sept. 17, at 8 a.m. at the Hawk's Landing Golf Club. Located within the premises of the Orlando World Center Marriott, the tournament is more than just a game—it's a cause. Proceeds will contribute to four annual VPPPA scholarships, each valued at $3,500, aimed at students pursuing a degree or certificate in EHS. Participants can anticipate snacks and beverages on the course, followed by an awards luncheon.
