Eight Colombian Officers Welcomed to Kevlar Survivors' Club

DuPont announced April 3 that it has recognized eight Colombian police officers for surviving a life-threatening event by wearing body armor made with Kevlar®. The officers were inducted into International Association of Chiefs of Police/DuPont™ Kevlar® Survivors' Club®, the company said, adding that Colombia is the only Latin American country that has police offices in the club.

About 150 people attended the induction ceremony, and these included members of the National Police Direction; Government Security Citizens; delegates from the Bogotá Council and the U.S. Embassy; news media; and DuPont employees from Colombia, México, and Brazil.

"We are very proud to honor these Colombian officers, for they risk their lives every day to save others and contribute to a safer society," said DuPont Andean Region President Guillermo Heins.
