DOL Announces Labor Rights Week 2023 Begins August 28

The event advocates for awareness among U.S. workers.

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) is once again devoting the week before Labor Day to spreading awareness of labor rights.

According to the DOL website, Labor Rights Week aims to “ensure dignity, equity and justice” for all U.S. workers “regardless of where they’re from.” The DOL is partnering with the Mexican Embassy, its 52 consulates and other federal agencies for this annual observance. This year’s edition runs from August 28, 2023, to September 1, 2023.

As a part of Labor Rights Week, the associated government agencies are planning events and initiatives—including workshops, community fairs, legal consultations, and media campaigns—to boost engagements from workers and employers alike. The hope is to educate workers about their fundamental rights as U.S. workers and inspire employers to take action.
