Investigators are evaluating whether imiquimod cream, commonly used to treat genital warts and certain skin cancers, can boost the body’s immune response to an H5N1 influenza vaccine.
The annual safety report on the industry from the U.S. Coast Guard and the American Waterways Operators shows there were only six fatalities related to towing vessel operations. Seven other deaths were from existing medical conditions and an accidental overdose.
A new report requested by Congress indicates about 112,000 transactions were denied in FY2017, and ATF referred about 12,700 of those cases to its field divisions for further investigation. But U.S. attorney's offices had prosecuted just 12 of those cases as of June 2018.

The MIWISH grants are offered to employers of up to 250 employees to use in the purchasing of safety and health-related training and equipment. Employers in high hazard industries will be given preference.

NIOSH’s new framework considers “the ‘lifecycle’ of opioid use from precursors in the workplace, to use conditions, to containment and decontamination, to strategic responses,” in order to provide recommendations for workers and employers to handle the opioid epidemic together, according to the framework materials.
The current estimate for emergency response and reconstruction of the main and emergency spillways is $1.1 billion, with completion of the project expected in 2019.
