ASSE to Hold Safety Conference in India
The professional development conference, hosted by The American Society of Safety Engineers, is the first of its kind in India.
According to a press release from The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), the organization will be holding a professional development conference – the first of its kind – in India. The conference, SAFETY INDIA 2014, will be held on May 26-27, 2014 in Chennai, India. The conference’s theme will be “Advancing OSH to Save Lives.” ASSE has partnered with the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) to hold the event.
The conference targets an attendance composed of the country’s “safety practitioners from a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, automotive and many others.” ASSE also hopes to get business and government leaders involved in the conference so they can learn more about safety initiatives and safety culture, according to the press release.
ASSE opened an Indian chapter in March 2012. According to ASSE, the Indian conference hopes to attract over 500 participants and 20 exhibitors from around the world.
