ASSP and ASHCA Announce New Partnership to Improve Farmer Safety

The collaboration arrives during this year’s National Farm Safety and Health Week.

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and the Agricultural Safety and Health Council of America (ASHCA) announced a partnership on September 22 during National Farm Safety and Health Week.

The two organizations signed a three-year memorandum that will help advance workplace health and safety in the farming industry. This partnership will involve the organizations sharing best practices and working together to advance issues of common interest, increase educational opportunities and improve the safety of agricultural workers.

“Our council works to raise the profile of worker safety within agriculture and helps get safety information into the hands of those who need it,” said Jess McCluer, ASHCA Chair and vice president of Safety and Regulatory Affairs at the National Grain and Feed Association. “Collaborating with ASSP brings a new level of experience to that effort that will improve the wellbeing of farmers, ranchers and other agricultural workers.”

More information on this new collaboration can be found at assp.org or ashca.org.
