Safety+ 2025 wrapped up with powerful breakout sessions on confined space hazards and safety communication strategies, giving attendees practical tools to strengthen workplace safety culture.
Confined Spaces
Eighty-nine percent of confined space fatalities occurred during jobs authorized by supervisors, and 80% happened in locations that had previously been entered by the same person who later died. Attendees learned that while entry into an enclosed space might be possible, a safe exit was not always guaranteed. This session helped participants understand the hazards associated with confined spaces and the procedures employers had in place to protect workers and those around them—knowledge that could mean the difference between life and death.
By the end of the course, participants were able to:

Even though everyone agreed that safety was important, capturing the attention and commitment of employees and management alike was no small feat.
