Safety+ 2024 Provides Hands-On Networking to Build Connections Across Industries

Receptions and events at VPPPA’s annual event offer opportunities to connect with peers and industry leaders.

Networking will be a key focus at the 2024 Safety+ Symposium, taking place from August 25 to August 28 at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado. The event—organized by the Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association (VPPPA)—will provide opportunities for safety professionals to connect, exchange ideas and build relationships that can enhance their workplace practices.

One of the most anticipated networking events is the Expo Hall Grand Opening Reception on Sunday, August 25. With over 150 vendors showcasing the latest in PPE, technology, training and ergonomic solutions, the expo offers a chance to explore new innovations while networking. This reception aims to set the tone for the symposium, allowing attendees to reconnect with old friends and establish new contacts.

On Monday, August 26, networking continues with the Special Government Employee (SGE) & Mentoring Lunch, which takes place within the Expo Hall. This lunch is particularly significant for those involved in or interested in the SGE program. It will feature a presentation of the VPPPA-VPP Modernization Plan, aimed at enhancing OSHA’s SGE program. Space is limited, so attendees must RSVP at registration.

That same day, the Regional Annual Meeting of the Membership is an opportunity for attendees from Regions V, VII, and VIII to meet their regional VPPPA Board members, discuss updates and explore volunteer opportunities within their regions. Soon thereafter is the Mountain View Evening Reception, offering a more relaxed atmosphere, with beautiful mountain views providing a backdrop for networking.

The symposium concludes with the Closing Night Reception and Activity on Wednesday, August 28. This final event provides one last opportunity to solidify connections made throughout the week, with games, food and drinks rounding out the experience.
