Delivering Effective Feedback to Instigate Change in Safety

Listen in as Editor Sydny Shepard discusses best practices in delivering feedback for instigating change in employee involvement in safety programs.

As a safety professional, you must analyze workplaces for hazards and instigate changes to eliminate or control them. However, you cannot do this alone. In order to protect the workers who work closely with the hazard, or area the hazard is found in, you must talk with the employee about how to conduct safe work.

Discussing an employee’s procedure and offering feedback on how to engage more safely with the tasks can be difficult, however. Perhaps the employee doesn’t take constructive criticism well, maybe you haven’t really connected with this employee before and they don’t quite trust your feedback yet. Perhaps you have tried to give feedback before and it just doesn’t seem to be getting through?

Well, on today’s episode of the podcast, we are going to discuss a few ways that can help you to deliver more effective feedback that inspires change and improves safety programs.
