DOL Makes Funding Available for Project in the Country of Georgia

Funding is available for the project to advance workers' rights.

The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of International Labor Affairs announced a $750,000 competitive solicitation for a project to strengthen respect for worker rights in the country of Georgia. The project will advance workers' rights through activities to improve the ability of worker organizations to engage effectively with the government and employers.

The project will seek to improve worker organizations' capacity for outreach and training for members regarding Georgian labor law and enforcement, with a focus on rights related to occupational safety and health. It will also try to increase worker organizations' effectiveness in representing workers in collective bargaining, dispute resolution, legal proceedings, and dialogue with the government and employers.

Applicants that are considered eligible include any commercial, international, educational, or nonprofit organizations(s), including any faith-based, community-based, or public international organizations capable of successfully implementing the activities outlined in the solicitation.
