NATE Accepting 2014-15 STAR Initiative Applications
This is the National Association of Tower Erectors' signature program recognizing tower contractors, tower owners, and carriers that voluntarily adhere to higher safety standards.
The National Association of Tower Erectors is now accepting applications for the 2014-2015 enrollment period for the NATE STAR Initiative. The program is entering its fourth year soon and "continues to gain momentum," according to NATE, which describes it as "the association's signature program designed to help companies operate safely and recognize tower contractors, tower owners, and carriers who voluntarily adhere to higher safety standards."
This is the only period when new participants are accepted, and current participants must reapply at the same time. Applications must be submitted online no later than Aug. 31.
According to the association, site safety audits and other program documentation requirements help participants proactively identify and correct hundreds of job site hazards and deficiencies. During 2012-2013, STAR participating companies reported conducting 2,168 site safety audits and correcting 378 hazards on their sites.
To become a member, visit www.natehome.com, review the eligibility and participation requirements, and complete and submit the application form.
NATE will advise all members of their application status upon completion of review and forward certificates and cards to those companies accepted into the program before year four of the program begins on Oct. 1, 2014.
