A U.S. Department of Labor investigation has determined that improperly stored hazardous chemicals led to a fire at a Bio-Lab Inc. facility in Conyers, Georgia.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) found the blaze originated in a warehouse used to store various chemicals. Following its investigation, OSHA cited Bio-Lab for four serious and two other-than-serious violations and proposed $61,473 in penalties.
Bio-Lab has 15 business days to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA, or contest the findings before the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
