Illinois DOT Promotes Winter Safety

The campaign is a joint effort among organizations throughout the state.

The state of Illinois has the safety of its drivers in mind, as proven by its launch of a winter weather driving campaign. Titled "Ice and Snow, Take it Slow," the campaign aims to ensure those who drive on icy roads—in particular people who are driving large trucks for long distances and driving snow plows—are doing so in a safe manner

The campaign is a joint effort among the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois Tollway, and the Illinois State Police. The campaign will cover everything from ensuring emergency equipment is ready to ensuring drivers aren't on their cell phones to removing snow in an orderly fashion.
