Confined Spaces: Atmospheric Hazards and Air Monitoring
Date: Thursday July 31, 2025 at 2:00pm ET - 1:00pm CT - 11:00am PT
Atmospheric hazards are recognized as a serious concern for confined space entry. Spaces may have hazards from the materials or processes they are used for, be impacted by hazards from outside the space, or have hazards occur from work during entry.
Exposure standards and recommended limits like the OSHA permissible exposure limits and ACGIH threshold limit values are intended for normal workplace exposures but may not always be appropriate for confined space entry. Multi-gas meters commonly used for confined space entry measure only a few hazards like flammable gases, hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide. Understanding the types and limitation of air monitoring methods is important for having accurate information and warning of atmospheric hazards in the space.
In this webinar we will cover various types of atmospheric hazards, use of exposure limits, and types of air monitoring for confined space entry.
