The DOT announced nearly all of the 16,000 heavy trucks subject to recall have been accounted for.

The tour is intended to raise public awareness of the Takata airbag recall, vehicle recalls and how to search for them using NHTSA's Recalls Look-Up Tool, as well as tire maintenance, child safety seats, and heatstroke when children are left in hot cars.
Made in China, they've been recalled by eight manufacturers or importers, one retail store, and one online retailer because of the risk they can overheat and catch fire.
The company has received three reports of these fireworks spraying outward but no injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately return the recalled fountains to the retailer where they purchased them for a refund or exchange.
"As a leading provider of flour for 150 years, we felt it was important to not only recall the product and replace it for consumers if there was any doubt, but also to take this opportunity to remind our consumers how to safely handle flour," said Liz Nordlie, president of General Mills Baking division.
Eight manufacturers were affected.
The advisory calls for the immediate repair and retesting of the tanks.
Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minn., has recalled about 133,000 Model Year 2013-2016 RZR 900 and RZR 1000 recreational off-highway vehicles after receiving more than 160 reports of fires associated with them, including one incident where a 15-year-old passenger died from a rollover that resulted in a fire and 19 reports of injuries, including first-, second-, and third-degree burns.

The new UL 2272 provides a framework to evaluate, test, and certify self-balancing scooters, the company announced Feb. 2.

Three automakers have expanded their Takata passenger inflator recalls to include more model years or additional vehicles and/or inflators from model years affected by existing recalls, according to the NHTSA announcement, which said the expansions resulted from Takata's ballistic testing conducted in recent months.
One of the recalls announced Dec. 11 involves approximately 487,041 units of holiday lights that were sold at Walmart Canada retail stores across Canada earlier this year.
The settlement agreement with OSHA implements safeguards to protect workers at Dollar Tree stores nationwide from hazards associated with blocked emergency exits, obstructed access to exit routes, electrical equipment, and improper storage of materials. It commits Dollar Tree to pay $825,000 in penalties arising from 13 different inspections.
The new law authorizes DOT to prohibit rental car companies from knowingly renting vehicles that are subject to safety recalls and raised maximum fines against non-compliant auto manufactures to $105 million, the secretary noted.
They are linked to an E. coli outbreak at Costco but are an ingredient in several companies' products, according to FDA.
The company said its operations are currently on a limited basis as the company seeks to confirm that new procedures, facility enhancements, and employee training are effective, and that ice cream it produces will be closely monitored and tested.
The U.S. government plans to fine the company for the way it handled airbag recalls.
