The reverse-mow option switch can malfunction and allow the mowers to unintentionally mow when being driven in a reverse direction, posing a risk of injury to bystanders.

Lenovo Recalls Laptops for Fire Hazard

About 83,500 ThinkPad X1 Carbon Laptops (5th Generation) laptops have been recalled because an unfastened screw can damage the battery, causing overheating and posing a fire hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission and Lenovo announced Feb. 6.

Gericare Sterile Eye Solution Recalled by Kareway

Kareway Products, Inc is voluntarily recalling 60,000 lots of Gericare Eye Wash, Sterile Eye Irrigation Solution, 4 fluid ounces to the hospital, retail or consumer level. The eye wash has been found to have potential microbial contamination which compromises sterility.

HP Recalls Laptop Batteries

HP to date has received eight reports of battery packs overheating, melting, or charring, including three reports of property damage totaling $4,500 with one report of a minor injury involving a first degree burn to the hand, according to CPSC.

Texas Company Issues Propane Recall

CPSC said no injuries have been reported, but its recall announcement said consumers should not attempt to test the propane themselves. The recalled propane may not contain sufficient levels of odorant to help alert consumers to a gas leak.

Amendments to Canada's Motor Vehicle Safety Act Proposed

The most significant proposed amendments involve recalls of motor vehicles and equipment. One would authorize the Minister of Transport to be able to order a company to correct a defect or a non-compliance in a vehicle or equipment if the Minister considers it to be in the interest of public safety.

Home Depot to Pay $5.7 Million Penalty for Selling Recalled Products

CPSC said the Atlanta-based company's agreement settles charges that it knowingly sold and distributed approximately 2,816 recalled products from 33 separate voluntary corrective actions from August 2012 through November 2016.

Dan Post Boots Recalled

California Firm Recalls Refillable Propane Cylinders

YSN Imports Inc., doing business as Flame King, of Gardena, Calif., has recalled about 24,000 refillable propane cylinders because they can leak propane gas, posing fire and explosion hazards, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on July 13.

Air Bag Manufacturer Takata Files for Bankruptcy

The move comes after a global recall of air bags that have a tendency to rupture.
