Employers in Washington State are required to electronically submit workplace injury and illness data must do so by Monday, March 2, 2026, through OSHA’s Injury Tracking Application (ITA).
Under Washington’s state-plan program, administered by the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), certain employers must annually submit information from OSHA Form 300 (Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses) and OSHA Form 301 (Injury and Illness Incident Report). These submissions are in addition to the required posting and certification of Form 300A (Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses).
The requirement applies to businesses with 100 or more employees in designated high-hazard industries listed in WAC 296-27-071 Appendix B.
Washington regulators will make portions of the submitted data publicly available. State officials say increased transparency can help employers; workers and the public better understand company safety records and may contribute to reducing workplace injuries and illnesses.
Some employers are exempt from OSHA 300 recordkeeping requirements. Exemptions generally always apply to businesses with 10 or fewer employees during the previous year across all locations, as well as certain low-risk industries identified in WAC 296-27-00105 Table 1.
However, employers must comply if they receive a Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses request from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, OSHA or Washington DOSH, even if they would otherwise qualify for an exemption.
