After a year and a half of uncertainties, the world is becoming a more familiar place—even if it is hardly recognizable behind a face covering. While large gathering were seen as a high risk last year, vaccinations and COVID-19 tests have made it easier for professionals to gather in one place again.
Speaking of gathering, that’s exactly what professionals in the safety and health field are doing in Orlando, Florida this week at the National Safety Council’s 2021 Safety Congress & Expo. The Congress brings a multitude of education and networking options to attendees while the expo floor showcases innovative products, softwares and services.
While at the expo on the first day of the show, I was happy to stop by many booths and interact with the innovative solutions found at NSC. Here’s a few I saw:
Ironclad Performance Wear (Booth 2401)
Hand and flash fire protection are two important things to those who work in hazardous locations and are at risk of lethal flash fire exposure. Ironclad is ensuring safety by introducing their brand new NFPA 2112 Flash Fire Rated Glove: HW6XFR. The glove was built upon Ironclad’s award-winning Heatworx glove line with DuPont Kevlar and Nomex yarns—offering maximum dexterity while handling hot items up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit.
OraSure Technologies (Booth 3136)
It is no secret that testing for COVID-19 is still a major priority around the country. At OraSure Technologies, they understand that quick and accurate testing is necessary to the health of a workforce. The company’s latest innovation, InteliSwab COVID-19 Rapid Test, makes it easier for individuals with or without symptoms to test themselves anytime and anywhere.
Ergodyne (Booth 2011)
It’s pretty hard to miss the large orange booth that belongs to Ergodyne at the safety conferences each year. At NSC, Ergodyne is touting their new Proflex Coated Series. The line of nitrile-coated gloves give ANSI-rated cut protection but also keep hands cool and comfortable.
Remember that OH&S is also at the NSC 2021 Safety Congress & Expo as well. Stop by booth 1439 to grab our latest edition of the magazine. If you are not at the NSC Congress this week, no worries! Make sure you tune into our live coverage at ohsonline.com/live.
