VPPPA Lists COVID-19 Information for Safety+ 2021

VPPPA offers safety professionals a safe and healthy way to engage with their Safety+ Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Just a few short years ago, the words coronavirus, face masks, social distancing and quarantine were not part of our every day conversations. However, Americans must now think of how these words will impact their health and safety each any every day.

While the country attempts a return to events, there are many, many precautions that need to be put in place to ensure that everyone is learning, connecting, and networking in the most safe way possible.

The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants' Association which is hosting their annual Safety+ An Integrated Safety & Health Management Systems Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee this year from August 31 through September 2 at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center has worked had to ensure the safety of attendees who decide to join them in-person for this year’s symposium.

The VPPPA released information on their website about how the association plans to approach attendee safety and health regarding COVID-19.

“The safety and health of our attendees and guests is of the utmost importance,” a statement on the VPPPA Safety+ Symposium website said.

VPPPA is encouraging all safety professionals who are joining the in-person event to be test for COVID-19 prior to traveling to Nashville if they are not vaccinated against the virus. The association also said that they would be requiring all Safety+ attendees to wear a mask for the duration of the event and practice social distancing when necessary.

In addition to those protocols, the association will also be designing their workshop rooms, exhibit hall and common areas with social distancing in mind. Hand sanitization stations will be readily available throughout the meeting spaces and attendees are encouraged to practice good hygiene.

“We are relying on our community to help us get through this together and we strongly believe we can have a safe, educational, and memorable event by looking out for one another,” the website statement says.
