Utah Lawmaker Aims to Help Uphold Worker Safety During the Pandemic
Due to weak workplace safety and coronavirus protection, a Utah representative may begin the process of introducing a bill to protect state workers.

Utah Rep. Jennifer Dailey-Provost is considering presenting legislation that will improve worker protections in the state during the pandemic, according to Fox 13.
The representative has received a large amount of complaints regarding workplace safety, including the absence of PPE and proper sanitation at work. Many of the people who have complained are essential workers.
“Constituents reaching out to me concerned about workplace safety, that they were not given a choice to stay home unless it was without pay,” Rep. Dailey-Provost said.
In many cases, these Utah employers have ignored the complaints and failed to implement proper protocol. It is reported that since the beginning of the pandemic in March, the state has had 1,263 documented workplace coronavirus outbreaks.
