MIOSHA Issues Emergency COVID-19 Rules
Michigan’s governor collaborated with MIOSHA to introduce new guidelines for employers to follow in the wake of COVID-19.

The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) issued a set of emergency rules for employers in Michigan to follow on October 14, according to The Detroit News.
Under these rules, businesses that are operating in-person are required to have written COVID-19 preparation and response plans, as well as coronavirus specific training. The training should address things like how to properly use PPE and how to report unsafe conditions at work.
“While most Michigan job providers are doing their part to slow the spread of COVID-19, these rules provide them with clarity regarding the necessary requirements to keep their workplaces safe and their employees healthy,” said Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
The new MIOSHA rules also lay out requirements specific to certain industries, such as health care, retail, construction and restaurants.
