VPPPA Announces 2018 Scholarship Winners

The association's Safety+ annual national conference is taking place Aug. 28-31 at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, and scholarship recipients will be recognized during that event.

The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants' Association has announced the winners of its 2018 Awards and Scholarships. The association's Safety+ annual national conference is taking place Aug. 28-31 at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, and scholarship recipients will be recognized during that event.

Scholarship recipients are:

  • June Brothers Scholarship Winner: Cameron Cothran, Andale, Kansas
  • Sergeant Safety Scholarship Winner: Jenna Marie Schroeder, West Richland, Wash.
  • Stephen Brown Scholarship Winner: Rylan Jayde Grimes, Gilliam, Mo.
  • William "Sully" Sullivan Scholarship Winner: Meaghan Morris, Nashua, N.H.

Recipients of VPPPA Annual Awards are:

  • VPP Outreach Award Winners: John Dyer, Veolia Environmental Services, Philadelphia, Pa.; SRNS Team, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC, Aiken, S.C.
  • VPP Innovation Award Winners: CHPRC Purex Tunnel, CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Company, Richland, Wash.; Washington River Protection Solutions, Richland, Wash.
  • VPPPA Safety & Health Outreach Award Winner: Terry Gray, Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, Va.
