2018 SHRM Conference Includes Sessions on Rx Overuse, Workplace Depression

The June 17-20 conference will include more than 230 concurrent sessions on topics such as prescription drug overuse, workplace depression, bullying and harassment, workplace violence, health care reform, financial wellness for young workers, and more.

The Society for Human Resource Management's 70th Annual Conference & Exposition next month will bring more than 16,000 HR and business leader to Chicago's McCormick Place next month, with keynotes, sessions, and dozens of exhibitors focused on current issues in the workplace, including drug and alcohol testing, wellness and incentives, safety, ergonomics, counseling and Employee Assistance Programs, and on-site medical care.

The June 17-20 conference will include more than 230 concurrent sessions on topics such as prescription drug overuse, workplace depression, bullying and harassment, workplace violence, health care reform, financial wellness for young workers, and more.

"We know that change is constant. As the world speeds up, we must learn the skills and strategies to become more adaptable to it," said George Carroll, a corporate trainer and author who will speak at the conference on the topic, "Adaptability is the New Change: Five Keys to Embracing Change and Transition."

SHRM executives will hold two press briefings during the event, one on immigration reform, paid leave, flexible work, pay equity, employment of ex-offenders, and regulation; and the second on HR as a social force with new SHRM President and CEO Johnny C. Taylor, Jr.

Highlights from the 2018 Employee Benefits Survey will be released on June 19.
