Nursing Now Launches Worldwide

Nursing Now is a three-year campaign run in collaboration with the International Council of Nurses and the World Health Organization; it is a program of the Burdett Trust for Nursing.

A new global campaign named Nursing Now is being launched with events around the world on Feb. 27. Meant to empower and support nurses in meeting 21st century health challenges, the events are planned in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Jamaica, United States, Jordan, South Africa, and other countries, with global launch events taking place in London and Geneva and being livestreamed on Nursing Now's Facebook page.

Nursing Now is a three-year campaign run in collaboration with the International Council of Nurses and the World Health Organization; it is a program of the Burdett Trust for Nursing, an independent charitable trust based in London, and is run by a Campaign Board made up of nurses and non-nurses from 16 different countries.

Lord Nigel Crisp, co-chair of Nursing Now, said, "On behalf of Nursing Now supporters across the world, I am delighted to welcome HRH The Duchess of Cambridge as our Patron. Our campaign aims to improve health globally by raising the profile and status of nurses worldwide – influencing policymakers and supporting nurses themselves to lead, learn and build a global movement. We are delighted to have a Patron with such a strong commitment to nursing and a history in her family of volunteer nurses. We look forward to working with Her Royal Highness as we support nursing and nurses across the world."
