New CCOHS Website Covers Infectious Disease Preparedness
"The time to start thinking about and preparing for a flu outbreak is now, before flu season kicks into high gear. And in turning our attention to the flu season, we should also remind ourselves of the importance of building contingency plans that maintain business continuity should employees become ill and have to remain at home," said Gareth Jones, acting president and CEO of CCOHS.
The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has launched a website with tools and resources to help workplaces and communities minimize the impact of flu and infectious disease outbreaks. The Flu and Infectious Disease Outbreaks site provides information, tips, and resources "intended to help keep workplaces operational and people healthy, working, and thriving during a widespread flu outbreak, or a pandemic," according to the agency.
The Flu and Infectious Disease Outbreaks website can be found at www.ccohs.ca/outbreaks.

"We hope this website will serve as a useful resource for Canadians just in time for flu season."
Information on the site is organized by topics, audience, and resource types; tools and resources available there include business continuity plans, mobile apps, fact sheets, checklists, and articles.
