FRA Sets Grade Crossing Meeting in August

The workshop participants will cover five "hot-button areas": engineering/technologies, enforcement, community outreach and education, hazard management, and human factors.

The Federal Railroad Administration will host a Highway-Rail Grade Crossing Safety workshop at the Westin Hotel in St. Louis, Mo., Aug. 15-17. The workshop will bring together state, federal, and international experts to prioritize specific research needs related to grade crossing safety.

According to FRA, the conference agenda will cover these five "hot-button areas":

  • Engineering/technologies
  • Enforcement
  • Community outreach and education
  • Hazard management
  • Human factors

Attendees will include representatives of railroads, labor unions, academia, non-profit organizations, and consultants.
