The American Society of Safety Engineers announced the results of its 2017 elections and congratulated the new leaders whose terms begin July 1. Jim Smith, CSP, will become ASSE's 2017-18 president. Those elected to the top elected positions at ASSE serve on its Board of Directors – president, president-elect, senior vice president, vice president of finance, and directors-at-large. Each wins a one-year term, except for the two-year term of vice president of finance and the three-year term of director, and the succession of candidates from senior vice president to president-elect and from president-elect to president is automatic.
