FAA Conducting Drone Research at DFW International
The administration is conducting research on drone detection systems
The FAA has announced it is conducting detection research on drones at DFW International Airport. The administration is working with government and industry partners to evaluate technology that can detect drones around airports. The tests are being conducted at the Texas A&M Corpus Christi UAS site, and Gryphon Sensors are the participating industry partner. The technology involved includes radar, radio frequency and electro-optical systems.
Federal partners include: Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Federal Communications Commission, Customs and Border Protection, Department of the Interior, Department of Energy, NASA, Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Capitol Police, and the Department of Transportation.
