'A+A Live' Demonstrations Draw Big Crowds

The Hall 7a stage features everything from fire protection and PPE demonstrations to ASSE sessions on "solving the mystery" of U.S. safety and health standards

DUSSELDORF -- The "A+A Live" part of the "Innovation Park" inside Hall 7a of this year's A+A Safety, Security and Health at Work conference is a popular stop for attendees of the trade fair. They are showing up en masse to sit on hard benches, and also standing in rows farther back, before a tiny stage where experts demonstrate all sorts of new safety products throughout the trade fair's four days. In some cases, the presenters are simply sharing safety and health knowledge. Either way, it's an ideal situation for exhibitors located across the aisle from the stage.

The demonstrations run the gamut from fire protection and hazmat storage to GHS, fall protection, cooling vests, chemical protective glove selection, and PPE cleaning to representatives of the American Society of Safety Engineers presenting short sessions in which they promise to unravel "the mystery" of U.S. safety and health regulations -- a tall order indeed for those of us familiar with the sometimes-Byzantine regulations enacted in the United States.

The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency is presenting a session, and ASSE is presenting its session three times on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30. Honeywell, DSM Dyneema, and several other manufacturers also are giving presentations.
