NSC Calling for Rising Stars of Safety Nominations
The rising stars are considered the next generation of safety leaders.
The National Safety Council announced that it is accepting nominations for the 2015 NSC Rising Stars of Safety, a recognition that honors individuals younger than 40 who have a track record of demonstrating leadership, innovation, and involvement in their organization's safety culture while promoting continuous safety improvements in their workplaces. It is presented by DuPont Sustainable Solutions.
"At DuPont we believe in recognizing emerging safety leaders, and the NSC Rising Stars of Safety program identifies outstanding candidates from around the world," said James Weigand, president of DuPont Sustainable Solutions. "Investing in these rising stars today will ensure a strong pipeline of committed safety leaders for the future."
Some of the attributes NSC is looking for include leadership attributes that set the nominee apart from his or her peers; initiating and/or leading a successful safety initiative with measurable results; engaging peers and transforming the safety culture of the organization; and valuing safety as a critical part of business operations.
"The safety movement is fueled by new ideas, new insights and new leaders," said Deborah A.P. Hersman, president and CEO of the National Safety Council. "Each class of NSC Rising Stars is a down payment on saving lives and preventing injuries in workplaces around the world."
