Ground Beef Recalled for Possible E. coli

Wolverine Packing Co. of Detroit, MI has recalled around 1.8 million pounds of ground beef

Wolverine Packing Co. based in Detroit, MI has recalled roughly 1.8 million pounds of ground beef due to possible E. coli contamination, according to the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). So far, 11 illnesses have been reported in four states (Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio).

The ground beef being recalled was produced between March 31, 2014 and April 18, 2014. The products being recalled have the establishment number “EST. 2574B” and a production date code in the format “Packing Nos: MM DD 14” between “03 31 14” and “04 18 14”.
