FEMA Calls for National Advisory Council Applicants

FEMA seeks applicants for its National Advisory Council in a variety of disciplines.

According to a press release from FEMA, the agency has requested applications for individuals who wish to serve on the National Advisory Council (NAC). The advisory council advises the FEMA administrator on all aspects of emergency management while incorporating the community's input to better ensure "effective and ongoing coordination of federal preparedness, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation for natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made disasters."

The NAC, which consists of 35 members considered leaders in their field, has open slots in the following disciplines: Emergency Management, Emergency Response, Non-Elected Local Government Officials, Elected Tribal Government Officials, Non-Elected Tribal Government Officials, Health Scientist, Communications, Infrastructure Protection, Standards Settings and Accrediting and Disabilities.

FEMA will be accepting applications (which must include a CV, cover letter, contact information and discipline applying for) until March 14, 2014.
