Facility Safety Summit Session 1: Three Standards Updates That Could Impact Your Facility Safety Program

Date: Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 11:00am ET / 10:00am CT / 8:00am PT

From first aid readiness and head protection to emergency eyewash and shower equipment, several important safety standards are changing — or are in the process of being revised. Join Cam Mackey, President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA), for a practical look at three ANSI/ISEA standards with implications for facility safety programs.

This session will examine the newly updated ANSI/ISEA Z308.1 standard for workplace first aid kits, including changes addressing today's emergency-response needs. Mackey will also discuss the revised ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 industrial head protection standard and what its updated requirements mean for employers. While hard hats are often associated with construction, head protection is also an important consideration in manufacturing, warehousing, utilities, maintenance and other facility environments. Finally, Mackey will provide an update on the revision of ANSI/ISEA Z358.1, the emergency eyewash and shower equipment standard, which is currently moving through the consensus process.

Attendees will come away with a clearer understanding of what has changed, what may be coming next and what these developments could mean for their facility safety programs.
