OSHA’s Top Ten Citations: A Costly Countdown

Each year OSHA publishes a “Top Ten” list of citations given to employers during the previous fiscal year (October 1st to September 30th). The list gives employers an idea of the top violations that OSHA has identified during their visits to facilities and jobsites across the United States and what they should look out for on their own worksites.

The purpose of this presentation is to (1) identify the top ten citations given in the most recent year data is available, (2) compare the results to previous years and (3) provide “real-life” examples of the violations that resulted in these citations. The goal should be for employers to take this information and use it to make their workplaces safer for their employees.
