The NCI-supported Early Detection Research Network (EDRN) is a consortium of biomedical investigators who share data on cancer biomarkers, with the goal of pooling their research data into a single searchable network and facilitate techniques for early diagnosis of cancer or cancer risk.
"Brain diseases and disorders affect millions of families worldwide, leading to billions of dollars in medical expenses and lost productivity," said NSF Director France Córdova, who will deliver opening remarks at the event. "This event is intended to promote collaboration and cooperation in emerging, large-scale international brain projects to further advance neuroscience research."
"New patterns of employment and work restructuring impact the safety and health of workers, and we look forward to working to improve safety interventions in construction, small business, and health care, among others," NIOSH Director Dr. John Howard, M.D., MPH, said.
The projects are located in California, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas, with grants for improvements to stations and grade crossings in Montana and for track improvements in Illinois, Massachusetts, and Ohio.
