AIChE Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Pertamina University

The organizations will work together on education and safety initiatives in the chemical process industries.

According to a news release, The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pertamina University (Jakarta, Indonesia) to establish a partnership. A signing ceremony took place on May 23, 2017, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The MoU will focus on safety education in undergraduate chemical engineering curricula; development of university faculty competency in chemical process safety techniques; joint sponsorship of an upcoming AIChE/Center for Chemical Process Safety’s (CCPS) Global Summit on Process Safety; and collaborations on other activities that will be beneficial.

Shakeel Kadri, Executive Director of CCPS, said the MoU represented a significant opportunity to advance CCPS’s vision for process safety excellence in Asia.
