DOL Proposes Delay to Beryllium Rule
The agency has proposed delaying the effective date from March 21, 2017, to May 20, 2017
The U.S. Department of Labor has proposed delaying the Occupational Exposure to Beryllium rule, according to a news release. The rule is scheduled to go into effect on March 21, 2017, but the agency has proposed pushing the date back to May 20, 2017 due to the White House’s regulatory freeze memorandum.
The delay would give OSHA more time to review the rule. The rule has already been delayed from its initial publishing on Jan. 9, 2017. The proposed extension would not affect the compliance dates of the beryllium rule.
