OSHA Revises Requirements for Outreach Training Program Instructors

Revised requirements will go into effect on April 1, 2017.

OSHA and AIHA reported that revised requirements and procedures for authorized trainers in OSHA's Outreach Training Program will go into effect on April 1, 2017.

Updates include clarifications of student contact hours, replacement card procedures, and the Trainer Code of Conduct.

A new 30-hour construction elective has also been added, titled "Foundations of Safety Leadership." New documents are also available on the program's webpage and include program requirements and PDFs outlining separate industry procedures for construction, general industry, maritime, and disaster recovery.
