ASSE Foundation to Tee Up for Scholarships, Research

For early Safety 2008 arrivals, the ASSE Foundation will host its 14th annual Silent Auction and Golf Outing with funds raised going to scholarships for students pursuing degrees in occupational safety and health, along with research. The outing will be held at the Badlands Golf Club near the Red Rock canyons on Monday, June 9, at 7:15 a.m. To donate items to the silent auction or sponsor the outing, contact the Foundation at (847) 768-3412.

The $140 per person entry price includes: green fee, cart rental, practice balls, and an all-American barbeque lunch. Prizes will be awarded for the top three teams and other activities such as longest drive and closest to the pin. Golfers will play a 4- person scramble and can sign up individually or to a foursome. Only 144 spaces are available. Rental clubs are available for a special rental rate of $35, which is payable directly to the course on the day of the event.

ASSE describes the Badlands course as "an unparalleled golf experience" comprised of "27 holes of breathtaking beauty set against majestic Red Rock canyons featuring deep-flowing arroyos, canyons, and natural washes," offering guests "desert vistas and scenic views of the Las Vegas valley."
