Fall Protection Compliance for Employers: Identifying, Evaluating, and Controlling Fall Hazards
In 2017, OSHA updated Subpart D of the Walking Working Surface Standard, and articulated more specifically the duty of building owners and employers to provide fall protection. What does the “duty to provide fall protection” mean for employers? What does it mean for safety managers? What level of hazard requires a control in the workplace?
In this course, participants will learn to identify, evaluate, and control common fall hazards in the workplace. We will discuss rooftop, interior, and exterior fall protection applications, as well as passive and active fall protection systems used after hazard elimination is deemed impossible or infeasible. The course will focus on compliance with the federal OSHA worker safety standard, but we will discuss Cal/OSHA and ANSI Z359 as well.
