Permit Required Confined Space Rescue: Understanding 1910.146 and Appendix F Rescue Teams

Unlike other job fields, the role of a rescue team is to save lives in a matter of seconds and requires a higher performance from every team member during real emergencies. Your role as the employer is to ensure the team is proficient, adequately trained, and properly equipped to perform the types of rescues needed at your facility.

OSHA 1910.146(k) provides guidance for employers on selecting rescue teams for permit required confined spaces, and 1910.146 Appendix F outlines performance evaluation criteria recommended by OSHA.

In this webinar, we will discuss selection criteria for determining whether you need to maintain an internal rescue team or consider hiring a third-party rescue service, or both, and evaluation criteria for effectively measuring performance before, during and after an actual rescue.

Attendees will learn:

  1. How to select internal rescue teams or rescue service providers, or both
  2. What skill levels and proper equipment are required
  3. Why continuous training and practice are critical
