The NFPA 70E Technical Committee has finished its work on the Second Revision for the 2015 edition of 70E. Many of the actions taken during the First Revision meeting were kept during the Second Revision meeting, but many were modified and wording changes were incorporated due to public comments that were made concerning the First Draft.
This webinar will cover some of the more significant changes that are likely to appear in the 2015 edition of NFPA 70E. These changes won't be final until the balloting for the standard is completed, which should be in July 2014. Some of the committee actions had close votes, but most had a clear majority.
With the impact NFPA 70E has on the electrical work environment and the costs associated with changes to the standard, having an understanding of the likely changes will benefit workers and companies that want to stay at the forefront of electrical safety.

James R. (Jim) White, has been the Training Director of Shermco Industries, Inc., in Irving, Texas, since 2001. He is the principal member for Shermco Industries on the NFPA technical committee “Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance” (NFPA 70B). Jim represents the interNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA) as an alternate member of the NFPA Technical Committee “Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace” (NFPA 70E), is NETA’s principle representative on the NEC Code Making Panel CMP-13, and represents NETA on the ASTM F18 Committee “Electrical Protective Equipment For Workers.” He is an IEEE Senior Member who received the IEEE/PCIC Electrical Safety Excellence award in 2011 and NETA’s Outstanding Achievement Award in 2013. He is a past chairman (2008) of the IEEE Electrical Safety Workshop and is the author of two books available through American Technical Publishers, Significant Changes to NFPA 70E – 2012 Edition and Electrical Safety, A Practical Guide to OSHA and NFPA 70E.
