Las Vegas Mob Museum Wins Restoration Award

The American Public Works Association will present its 2013 national Project of the Year Award for Historical Restoration/Preservation, $25 million - $75 million, to the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement in Las Vegas, better known as the Mob Museum. It opened in February 2012 after a $42 million renovation of the building, an 80-year-old former post office and federal courthouse that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Caitlyn Belcher of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Her report says the City of Las Vegas Public Works Department, APCO Construction, and architectural firm Westlake Reed Leskosky will be honored at the awards ceremony.

Located at 300 Stewart Ave., the museum is open daily.
