The signature event of the American Society of Safety Professionals drew one of its largest crowds in history last month, attracting 6,164 registered workplace safety and health professionals — and more than 9,700 total participants when including exhibitors and livestream viewers.
The Safety 2025 Professional Development Conference and Exposition, held July 22–24 at the Orange County Convention Center, ranks as one of the largest annual U.S. conferences dedicated to advancing workplace safety and health. It is surpassed only by ASSP’s sold-out Safety 2024 in Denver.
“We continue to see an immense desire from safety professionals to network with colleagues and stay current on best practices, industry trends and the latest product innovations,” said ASSP President Linda Tapp, CSP, ALCM, CPTD. “The turnout was exceptional and made Safety 2025 a significant success in many ways.”
The conference featured the largest expo in ASSP history, with 683 vendor booths spanning more than 134,000 square feet. Popular features included tech talks, flash sessions, a career advancement center and the Runway Apparel and PPE Fashion Show.
ASSP welcomed 2,797 first-time attendees, nearly half of the total audience. One-third were non-members, who were offered a complimentary one-year membership. “Our event shares case studies and new safety approaches along with vast networking opportunities that help practitioners solve safety challenges and advance their careers,” Tapp said.
The conference also surpassed its $15,000 fundraising goal for the ASSP Foundation, aided by a matching contribution from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
Safety 2026 will be held June 15–17 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.
