Bullard, the inventor of the original hard hat and a global leader in personal protective equipment, announces the release of its new Type II + Safety Helmet, a next-generation solution engineered for the toughest jobs across construction, utilities, manufacturing, and industrial environments.
Designed to meet the ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 Type II standard, the Bullard Type II + offers protection against both top and side impacts. But the innovation goes beyond compliance: the helmet combines rugged durability, ergonomic comfort, and unmatched adaptability to help keep workers safe and more comfortable on the jobs.

A standout innovation is Bullard’s exclusive FlexBrim™ removable brim, a tool-free brim that allows wearers to convert between a Safety Helmet to a Full Brim Safety Helmet in seconds. With a wide range of brim and shell color combinations, organizations can easily align with safety protocols, jobsite conditions, or brand standards.
Inside the helmet, the Type II + features a breathable mesh crown support, a self-adjusting nape support, and an adjustable center of gravity to deliver all-day wearability and a truly personalized fit. These thoughtful design elements can help reduce fatigue and improve focus across long shifts and extreme environments.
Built for Longevity and Customization
Built for field use and designed to last, the Type II+ is equipped with tool-free, field-replaceable components — including the suspension, brow pad, chin strap, and FlexBrim — that extend helmet life and lower the cost of ownership. The Type II + offers a spacious, flexible fit, for head sizes 6 ¼ - 8 (50 – 64 cm); one of the widest ranges in the industry.
Integrated accessory slots support a broad array of attachments, including sunshades and neck shades, lights (band and adhesive-mounted), face visors, and retractable eye protection (coming soon), as well as hearing protection (coming soon).
