Montego Bay Hotel Casino Resort Earns Nevada’s Safe Partner Award for Workplace Safety Excellence

SCATS recognizes Montego Bay Hotel Casino Resort for its long-standing safety leadership, staff training, and commitment to creating a safer work environment for over 550 employees.

The Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS) of the State of Nevada's Division of Industrial Relations recognizes Montego Bay Hotel Casino Resort in Wendover, Nevada, with the Safe Partner Award. Designed to increase safety awareness and strengthen safety culture within the workplace, this elite award is given to a maximum of four businesses annually out of the 100,000 employers in Nevada. Montego Bay Hotel Casino Resort has partnered with SCATS consistently since the early 2000s and has expanded its written workplace safety program over the years.

“SCATS has helped Montego Bay Hotel Casino Resort create a safer work environment for our more than 550 employees, dramatically improving our safety culture,” said Tianna Swander Banuelos, Human Resource Manager for Montego Bay Hotel Casino Resort. “Accessing specialized training can be difficult in rural Nevada, but the dedication of SCATS has ensured our employees haven’t been left behind in acquiring this crucial knowledge.”

Working with SCATS has enabled the Montego Bay Hotel Casino Resort team to make significant improvements to employee safety. In its safety culture improvement efforts, the organization utilized SCATS’ online and in-person safety trainings, with some employees starting the Safety Practitioner Certificate Program.

Montego Bay Hotel Casino Resort joins a committed group of organizations that prioritize employee health and safety. Recognition is granted for using a range of no-cost services from SCATS, such as safety consultations, training courses, enrollment in the Safety and Health Practitioner Program, and more.
