Safety 2025: ASSP Hosts More Than 200 Breakout Sessions at Annual Conference

The ASSP Professional Development Conference & Expo brings safety professionals together in Orlando for three days of expert-led sessions, emerging trends, and industry-wide collaboration.

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is currently hosting its annual Safety 2025 Professional Development Conference & Expo at the Orange County Convention Center, running from July 22 to 24. The event features more than 200 concurrent breakout sessions spread across three days, offering safety professionals a wide array of educational and networking opportunities.

These sessions, long considered the heart of the conference, were led by experienced safety experts and carefully selected by the ASSP planning committee. Attendees had the opportunity to choose from one-hour talks spanning a wide range of formats, experience levels, and industry topics.

The program reflected growing diversity in subject matter, offering sessions for beginner, intermediate, advanced, and executive-level professionals. Topics included fall protection, risk management, mental health, safety culture, total worker health, electrical safety, leadership development, and safety management systems.

Notable additions this year included sessions addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion in workplace safety, the role of generative AI in risk reduction, and emerging technologies like robotics and wearables. One standout session titled “From ‘Add Diversity & Stir’ to Meaningful Change” explored how DEI can be intentionally integrated into safety initiatives. Another, “How Generative AI Is Improving Workplace Safety,” examined real-world case studies using artificial intelligence.

Throughout the three-day event, speakers presented on both technical and human-centered aspects of safety. The sessions emphasized collaboration, ethical leadership, and proactive culture-building—key themes echoed throughout the conference.

The session schedule underscored ASSP’s ongoing commitment to supporting a broad spectrum of professionals, from frontline workers and safety specialists to executive leaders and policy influencers.
