ASSP Seeks Safety Professionals for Upcoming Educational Events

The organization issued a call for instructors, with submissions due by April 12.

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is currently on the lookout for occupational safety and health experts to lead instructional sessions at three upcoming educational events. 

According to a release dated March 18, the ASSP is recruiting professionals to cover a series of courses scheduled for fall 2024’s SafetyFOCUS event (October 21-25, 2024), winter 2025’s SafetyFOCUS Winter 2025 (set for February 2025) and the Safety 2025 conference, including pre- and post-conference sessions in July 2025 in Orlando.

The courses—which vary in length from half a day to three days—will cover topics such as business and leadership skills, construction safety, fall protection, risk assessment, safety management systems and worker well-being. Prospective instructors are expected to address emerging issues, present strategies to tackle safety challenges, and broaden the knowledge and skills of attendees.

“It’s a terrific opportunity for safety and health experts to contribute to the development of their colleagues while advancing our industry, which ultimately will help us better protect workers everywhere,” ASSP President Jim Thornton said in a statement. “Being a course instructor is truly a rewarding experience.”

Applications for instructor roles are open until April 12, with a limit of four submissions per instructor. The ASSP’s Council on Professional Development will review proposals based on their alignment with the organization’s educational objectives, the instructor’s presentation and teaching skills, and the relevance and demand for the topic.
